Herbert Gibbs was a British furniture manufacturer best known for its well-made, practical furniture produced during the mid 20th century, particularly throughout the 1950s and 1960s.
The company became especially associated with slimline glazed bookcases, display cabinets, bureaus and storage furniture, often made in richly coloured teak and designed with the clean, unfussy lines that defined post-war British modernism. Many pieces combine open or glazed display space with cupboards below, making them particularly versatile for modern interiors.
