A set of four mid century teak dining chairs, thought to date from around the 1960s. They have curved, teak veneered backrests with particularly attractive grain, set within slim timber frames on gently tapered legs.
The seats have been newly upholstered in black, giving a clean contrast against the warm wood. Their shaped profile and the slight sweep of the backs make these comfortable chairs for everyday dining, while the open design keeps the set from looking heavy around a table.
These chairs have been carefully restored in our workshop and are in fantastic vintage condition. The fresh upholstery gives them a smart finish, while the wood retains the grain and small signs of age that belong to the original chairs.
Their simple shapes and mix of teak and dark upholstery reflect the Scandinavian influence seen in many mid century dining rooms. They would sit naturally with a teak table, but could also bring some warmth to a more contemporary setting.
Each chair has a “G” stamped beneath the plywood backrest. We haven’t been able to confirm the maker, so the set is being sold without a maker attribution.
