Eero Saarinen

Eero Saarinen (1910–1961) was a Finnish-American architect and industrial designer celebrated for his futuristic, sculptural approach to furniture and buildings.

He designed some of the most recognisable pieces of the 20th century, including the Tulip Table and Chair series for Knoll, which broke away from traditional four-legged furniture by introducing single pedestal bases. His designs are admired for their organic curves, clean lines and innovative use of materials, seamlessly blending function with modernist aesthetics. Saarinen’s work remains iconic within mid-century interiors and continues to influence contemporary design.
