Vase

Vintage vases from the 1950s through 1980s – when ceramic and glass design offered everything from traditional pottery to Space Age sculpture. We source vases from West German pottery manufacturers, Scandinavian glass houses, British studio potters, Italian Murano glassmakers, and countless workshops across Europe producing decorative objects with character and quality you don’t find in modern mass production.

Each vase here has been carefully assessed and cleaned. Vintage ceramics and glass need gentle handling – no harsh chemicals damaging glazes, no abrasive cleaning scratching glass or pottery. We check for hairline cracks, chips, glaze crazing, and are honest about condition. These are 50+ year old objects that may show their age, and that’s often part of their character.

What we source:

The range spans different styles, materials, and origins across post-war decorative arts. West German pottery with bold Fat Lava glazes and sculptural forms. Scandinavian art glass in controlled colours and organic shapes. British studio pottery showing individual maker’s styles. Italian Murano glass demonstrating technical virtuosity. Plus countless quality pieces from anonymous manufacturers.

Materials range from heavy earthenware pottery to delicate art glass, industrial ceramics to hand-thrown studio work. Sizes from small bud vases (10-15cm) to substantial floor vases (50cm+). Forms from traditional vase shapes updated with bold colours to completely abstract sculptural pieces.
