A beautifully proportioned mid century chest of four drawers dating from around the 1960s, with a wonderfully rich rosewood finish and a strong, architectural look.
The chest features four generous drawers with clean, handle-free fronts, each shaped along the lower edge to create a discreet integrated pull. The warm tone of the drawer fronts contrasts beautifully with the darker rosewood grain to the top and sides, while the black frame and raised underframe give the piece real definition.
The construction is particularly nice, with traditional dovetailed drawer joints and a solid, well-made feel throughout. Its relatively compact footprint makes it a really versatile piece too – ideal as bedroom storage, a hallway chest or even as a statement piece in a living space.
The rosewood has a lovely depth and variation to the grain, especially across the top and side panels, and the simple linear design feels very typical of good quality 1960s furniture.
