Richard Hornby

Richard Hornby was a celebrated British furniture designer of the 1950s and 60s, known for his refined modernist style and exceptional craftsmanship.

Working exclusively with the Derbyshire-based maker Fyne Ladye, Hornby created timeless designs in afromosia and other quality hardwoods, which were retailed through Heal’s of London. His sideboards, dining suites, and storage pieces are characterised by clean lines, recessed handles, and elegant tapered legs – a perfect balance of function and style. Today, Richard Hornby furniture is highly sought after for its rarity, craftsmanship and enduring mid-century appeal.
