Scandart of High Wycombe
A quiet icon of British mid-century design, Scandart of High Wycombe epitomised the clean lines, functional elegance, and craftsmanship of the Scandinavian aesthetic - infused with a distinctly British sensibility. Operating during the golden era of modernist design in the 1960s, Scandart took cues from the simplicity and practicality of Nordic style, crafting refined pieces from quality materials such as teak and beech.
Though produced in smaller volumes than contemporaries like Ercol or G Plan, Scandart’s work is no less impactful - perhaps even more coveted today for its rarity. Their chairs, sideboards, and tables speak in understated tones, letting form and material do the talking. Designed to be lived with, not just looked at, every piece balances sculptural style with everyday functionality.
Sought after by collectors and lovers of honest design, Scandart remains a hidden gem in the story of British furniture - a name that captures the charm of mid-century living, with timeless appeal.
