There is a little press button on and off switch on the top of the lamp shade. Rolled edge to the shade.
The springs are in good condition with no rusting or disintegration - and hold in place nicely with no drift down or movement.
It’s in good restored, working condition. A nice clean vintage example.

The spring-balanced arm mechanism allows precise positioning without fixing - a genuine engineering innovation. Original models feature cast iron bases, steel shades, and bakelite fittings.
