A beautifully proportioned mid century teak compact sideboard by Jentique, dating from the 1960s.
Offering a great balance of storage and practicality, this piece features a central bank of three drawers flanked by two cupboards, each fitted with a fixed internal shelf. The top drawer includes a freshly lined cutlery compartment, making it equally well suited to use in a dining room, kitchen, or living space.
The design showcases many of the details that make British mid century furniture so popular, from the sculpted recessed handles and gently tapered legs to the warm teak grain throughout. Its compact footprint makes it particularly versatile, providing plenty of storage without dominating a room.
Inside, the cupboards offer useful space for dinnerware, glassware, books or household essentials, while the three drawers provide additional organised storage. The freshly lined cutlery drawer is a lovely finishing touch and a practical feature for everyday use.
Founded in Dereham, Norfolk, Jentique was one of Britain’s most respected furniture manufacturers during the mid twentieth century. Known for its high-quality craftsmanship, beautifully teak veneers and distinctive sculpted handles, Jentique pieces remain highly sought after today.
This sideboard has been carefully restored and is presented in excellent vintage condition. The teak has been refinished to bring out the richness of the grain, with only light signs of age consistent with its vintage.
