A beautifully crafted mid-century teak sideboard by Vanson Furniture, a British maker known for its superb craftsmanship and Danish inspired design. Produced in the 1960s, this is a rarer model - a wonderful example of the clean lines, thoughtful detailing and enduring quality that made Vanson one of the most respected names in British mid-century furniture.
Vanson’s designs combined precision joinery with a subtle Scandinavian influence, favouring simple forms and tactile materials over ornamentation. This sideboard perfectly captures that approach - the rich teak grain is beautifully balanced by sculpted recessed handles and rounded legs, giving it a warm yet contemporary feel.
Inside, there’s a felt-lined cutlery drawer to the right, shelving and generous storage throughout – practical, elegant and impeccably made.
Presented in excellent vintage condition with only minor age-related signs of use. A timeless piece of British craftsmanship that’s both functional and highly collectible.
This piece has found its new home, but plenty of other one-of-a-kind finds await you. Discover similar pieces.
Produced during the 1950s and 60s, Vanson pieces reflect the optimism of post-war British design - elegant, functional and built to last.
Each piece combines clean architectural lines with subtle detailing: tapered legs, recessed handles and carefully balanced proportions that feel as fresh today as they did over half a century ago. Though less widely known than G-Plan or McIntosh, Vanson furniture holds its own for craftsmanship and quality, earning a devoted following among collectors and interior designers alike.
We source original Vanson sideboards, dining tables and storage pieces that celebrate the best of British modern design - timeless furniture with quiet confidence and enduring charm.
