A mid century drinks trolley by Remploy, with a sliding top that gives you extra room when it’s time to serve. Closed, it has a neat rectangular shape; open it up and a pale inset surface is revealed between the wooden sections.
There’s a discreet drawer beneath the top for coasters, bottle openers and other small things you want close to hand. Below, a raised shelf creates a separate spot for glasses or bottles, with more storage across the full length of the base. Castors make it easy to move the trolley from one room to another.
This piece has been carefully restored in our workshop and is in fantastic vintage condition. The warm wood grain and original Remploy label remain, along with the small signs of age you would expect from a vintage piece.
Remploy was established in Britain in 1945 to provide employment for disabled people, and furniture was among the products made in its factories.
This trolley is a practical piece of British mid century design that works as a home bar, a serving trolley or simply somewhere to keep your favourite bottles and glassware.

Remploy was a British manufacturer established in the post-war period, originally created to provide meaningful employment for disabled people and returning servicemen. Founded in 1945, the organisation went on to operate a large network of factories across the UK, producing everything from furniture and textiles to engineering products.
Furniture formed an important part of Remploy's early manufacturing, with the company becoming particularly well known for producing practical, hard-wearing pieces for schools, offices and other public buildings. Designs from the 1950s, 60s and 70s typically combine simple modernist styling with robust construction, reflecting the functional approach that characterised much British mid century furniture.
